So this weekend I saw Cabin in the Woods again and let me tell you, re-watching that film is crazy worth it. The first time watching you're the kids and the second time you're the others. I might have said too much...
Just go buy this film and shoot me your eternal gratitude in the comments section.
Greatness in art doesn't lie in an artist's technique, although they can be wonderful at technique, greatness lies in the honesty in the work and the courage to show it.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend my dear readers. I spent part of my weekend white knuckling take-out utensils while continuing to finally watching Lost. What's with this island, amiright?

My falling tears of joy are vaporizing on my lightsaber as I post this...
The National Media Museum has put on display a colour film from 1902 - the oldest known colour film footage. Check out the vid below to see it for yourself and how they brought it to the public.
Takashi Murakami finished up his first exhibition in the middle east this summer at Qatar's Al Riwaq Exhibition Hall. The show was titled Ego, and I would have done terrible, terrible things to have seen it in person... More than 60 works were displayed, some older pieces requested from private collections and new pieces specifically made for the show.

The epic chronicling and analysis of the birth and first year of life of a seemingly human child (or the book I just wrote, whatever you like is fine...) is now available for future generations at the Kobo Store!
5% of any profit I make on my end goes to the World Wildlife Fund. Hal needs an Earth to live on, folks. Unless I'm right about his hidden spacecraft...
Like so many people, I can't help but be moved by the work of Ai Weiwei. Can't wait to see Alison Klayman's documentary Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry
From the site:
"Ai Weiwei is China's most famous international artist, and its most outspoken domestic critic. Against a backdrop of strict censorship and an unresponsive legal system, Ai expresses himself and organizes people through art and social media. In response, Chinese authorities have shut down his blog, beat him up, bulldozed his newly built studio, and held him in secret detention."
Man... it's a joy to do this stuff for work. Doing what you love can feel difficult at times, even impossible. But folks, I assure you, if you stick with it, whatever it is, you'll find a way.
As pumped as I am for the release of The Avengers later this month (the 25th), I'm a little more excited for another Whedon involved film that comes out Sept 18th: Cabin in the Woods.
If you're a fan of horror flicks, this one's for you. If you're a fan of Joss Whedon, this one's for you. If you love both Horror AND Whedon, I think you owe the universe some sort of super, thank you ritual. A cool robed one.
