John Helsing: The Monster Murdering Bastard

I'm going to take this Friday moment to plug a bit of a passion project I'm working on called: John Helsing: The Monster Murdering Bastard!

It's the story of a man that's been on the path of revenge for so long, the lines between who he is and what he does have become blurred. Just as John is on the verge of completing his self imposed quest, he's forced to take on an unlikely companion, placing everything he's worked so long for in jeopardy. Can he finish with this new "partner"? Does he even want to finish?

If you're so inclined, you can head over to the John Helsing blog by clicking this LINK or clicking on the banner to the right of the page. There I post updates and misc. art as production rolls along. There's also a quick little teaser I made which you can find there or get to by clicking HERE.

Alright, enough plugging for a Friday. Have a good weekend and if you do something amazing, let us know so we can live through you vicariously.

Inspiration Wednesday!

Wednesdays I'll be posting something I find inspiring to share with you, my wonderful, intellectual, great looking, readers. Inspiration is key to everything I do, and everything you do as well, whether you know it or not. So to help keep those juices flowing it's good to expose yourself to new things as often as you can. Or on Wednesdays. Here.

PEOPLE

Other people are inspiring because it's those other people that create/do things that inspire us so we can create/do things that will in turn, inspire them. If you're thinking this is amazing, then I'd have to agree and we should high-five one day.

People are also crazy inspiring to me because of their stories - or potential ones. If I ever get stuck while developing a story or character, I just head outside for a walk or turn to images like the one above.  Instant possibilities reveal themselves.

For instance, let's check out the heavy set guy, in the orange plaid looking shirt and single shoulder strap. He looks sad - but why? Maybe he tried out for a crime fighting team and didn't make the cut. Maybe he's on his way home where later, in a fit of anger, he'll rip apart his tiny apartment he wanted so desperately to move out of and swear revenge on the same crime fighting team that rejected him. We could be seeing a villain in the making, folks. That or he could be just tired.

How about to Villain's right, the girl with the white hat? See that guy directly in front of her, clearly checking her out? Maybe that check out from a stranger gave her the courage she needed to leave her emotionally abusive husband (guy to her right). Maybe just as she's feeling better, in an act of desperation, ex-husband commits suicide, forcing the girl back into the abusive world of her in-laws to deal with a loan she received from them year before. Or maybe this girl feels like a trophy wife, and being checked out by this guy sends her over the edge and she violently beats him to near death right there in the crosswalk in front of all these people.

What about White pants-Brown shirt on the right? Extra Terrestrial disguised as a human, walking in heels for the first time?

How about Orange bag-Yellow Bag? Human hearts in the yellow bag, a vampire delicacy, to distract his vampire girlfriend (to his left) while he plunges the enchanted wooden stake that he got from a wizard (in the orange bag), into her brain. If he only knew it needed to be her heart.

Anyway, you get the idea. People, in so many ways, are inspiring and an immediate go to for me when stuck for ideas. As you can see from above, not necessarily amazing ideas - but all ideas have value, so there. So head outside or jump online (I think that covers all human activities...) and get inspired!

More (less wordy) inspirations coming at you next Wednesday - see you then!

FRESH!

Hey folks, I'm back with a brand new site! A lot of things have changed for me lately. I've started my own studio (more on this later), I've began new projects, and I've even become a father (like, a year ago - but everyday feels new so there), so I decided it was time for a change online.

A lot of great stories begin by telling you what they're going to say upfront, so let's start that way. Here you will find updates on projects I'm working on, inspirations (Inspiration Wednesdays are back), and probably miscellaneous thoughts and rants on things you probably don't want to hear (*see read) about.

If it sounds good, feel free to bookmark, follow, or you can find me on Twitter. If it doesn't, don't do any of those things.
